Education:
Philip Collins received his BS degree from Auburn University. After
working as a sales manager for the John H. Harland Company and for
American Express Company for eight years, he enrolled in law school
at the University of Alabama, where he received his juris doctor.
Practice Areas:
He concentrates his practice in the areas of medical negligence
defense, product liability defense, professional errors and
omissions, general tort and personal injury litigation, OSHA
litigation, insurance coverage law, and other complex litigation.
Professional Profile:
Phil is an Ad Junct Professor at the Birmingham School of Law, where
he teaches Torts I & II. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar and
serves on the Alabama State Bar Public Relations Committee. He is
also a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, American Bar
Association, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense
Research Institute. He is admitted to practice in all federal
jurisdictions in the state of Alabama. Phil has lectured on numerous
topics, including "Handling Medical Negligence Cases in Alabama" and
"Insurance Coverage Law in Alabama". He is married with
three children and his interests include running and golf. He serves on the
Board of Briarwood Christian School and in 2007 was the Public
Address Announcer for the Southeastern Conference's Men's Basketball
Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia. |
