He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law. Practice Areas: Walt is a partner in the Firm and is actively engaged in defending medical malpractice cases, product liability actions, professional errors and omissions, intellectual property/trade secrets, toxic tort/asbestos, general liability, extra-contractual litigation, and aviation litigation. Notably, he is involved in intellectual property matters and class action defense, including the recent representation of an insurer in class claims concerning premium charges. In addition, he has concentrated on insurance-related matters including coverage issues. Professional Profile: He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. In addition, he is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Professional Liability Defense Federation. He is a frequent lecturer before legal and insurance industry groups on the topics of insurance coverage and extra-contractual claims against insurers, and is the author of "Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage - A Desk Reference for Alabama Lawyers", Alabama Lawyer, May 2008. Additionally, he authored “Defense of Alabama Medical Malpractice Actions”, Alabama Defense Lawyers Journal, October 2006.
